The final Grand Slam of the tennis season will get underway in New York at the end of August. It will present a final opportunity for the stars on the ATP Tour to claim a Slam success this calendar year, but which players will be among the front-runners in the odds in 2024?
Before Betting On Men’s US Open
The Men’s US Open has been staged on the tennis schedule since 1881, and it is one of two Grand Slam competitions to be played on a hard court surface. Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer, and Pete Sampras are tied for the most wins in the Slam during the Open Era.
A very familiar star was standing at the top of the sport at the end of last year’s US Open, as Novak Djokovic claimed a fourth success. This year, he could tie the all-time record in the Open Era. Surprisingly, the superstar is yet to win a Slam this year, most recently reaching the final at Wimbledon before losing against Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz also has excellent pedigree at the US Open, as he won his first major title at the competition in 2022 when beating Casper Ruud in the final. His form throughout this season has been excellent after winning the titles at Wimbledon and the French Open already in 2024.
Jannik Sinner is also a hard contender to overlook back on a hard court surface. The Italian won the Australian Open title at the start of 2024, and has impressed at Wimbledon and the French Open in 2024. However, his previous best showing at the US Open came in 2022 when reaching the quarterfinals.
