The final tennis Grand Slam of the season gets underway at the end of August, as all eyes will be on Flushing Meadows for the US Open. Carlos Alcaraz comes into the final Slam of the season as the defending champion, and he will be the hot favorite after a dominant performance at Wimbledon over the summer.

Before Betting On The Men’s US Open

The Men’s US Open has been staged annually since 1881, and this year’s competition will be the 143rd edition of the competition. The most successful players in the history of the Slam are Richard Sears, William Larned, and Bill Tiden, with all stars winning seven titles in the Amateur Era. However, Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer, and Pete Sampras are tied for the most wins in the Open Era with five victories.

Carlos Alcaraz will come into the final Grand Slam of the season as the firm favorite at the top of the betting. The Spanish star was excellent in New York last year, as he landed a first major victory with a four-set victory over Casper Ruud. He has since added another Grand Slam to his collection following victory on the grass court at Wimbledon, beating seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.

The Serbian will once again be his biggest danger for Slam glory, as Djokovic is chasing a fourth US Open success. However, he hasn’t made the final since losing to Daniil Medvedev in 2021, and his last win came back in 2018. In fact, the Serbian has fell in the fourth round on two occasions in his previous three appearances at the US Open.

Casper Ruud could be the value angle in the betting after reaching the US Open final for the first time last year. He is a player that excels on the hard court, boasting a 64% win rate at the tournament. However, he is yet to win a Grand Slam title, despite reaching the final on three previous occasions.
