Before Betting on Mets vs Angels June 11
The Los Angeles Angels have seen this before. Right after snapping a 14-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Red Sox on Thursday, LAA is right back to their defeatist ways in falling 7-3 to the New York Mets in Friday night’s series opener.
New York belted out 13 hits on Friday, but does fatigue start to catch up with them over the weekend? The Mets are playing their last two games of a 10-game West Coast road trip, a tough one that they’ve managed to go 4-4 over so far. In all four of those losses New York has been held to two runs or less.
Angels starter Michael Lorenzen (5-3, 3.69 ERA) gets the task of trying to hold the Mets offense at bay after four players had multi-hit games in the series opener while Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha combined for 6 RBI from the 1-2 spots in the order. Lorenzen took two of the losses on the 14-game skid, giving up 8 ER combined to the Blue Jays and Phillies.
Carlos Carrasco (7-1, 3.52 ERA) aims for his 5th straight win and second straight on the West Coast. The right-hander pitched in San Diego last Monday, striking out 10 and giving up just 2 ER over 7.0 IP in an 11-5 Mets win.
The Mets are 10-4 in their last 14 overall, and 26-10 their last 36 vs. a RH starter. The Angels are 6-20 their last 26 games which includes a recent stretch of 1-9 at home.

There is little to no variance on the offshore odds from site to site, meaning the oddsmakers are pretty comfortable with what they’ve set this pricing at. The Mets were -137 on Friday night and cruised to an easy victory, no reason they shouldn’t do that again in game two.
