Mauricio Pochettino has reignited the passion within the USA national team after overseeing a debut win in his first match in charge.

However, it’s likely that the USMNT will face an increased challenge when the Argentinean takes charge of the nation for the second time on Tuesday.

But, confidence would have been gained in their 2-0 win over Panama over the weekend, with Yunus Musah and Ricardo Pepi finding the net.

Mexico will have the home field advantage on Tuesday, as they chase a response following a run of just one win in their last three.

Mexico Team News

This is Mexico’s only match in the international break against another national side, with Javier Aguirre likely to name an experimental line-up on Tuesday.

Despite that, Guillermo Ochoa remains the number one choice in the Mexican goal. Edson Alvarez will once again captain the nation, with Raul Jimenez will lead the line.

Possible Lineup

Guillermo Ochoa (GK); Jesus Angulo, Cesar Montes, Johan Vasquez, Bryan Gonzalez, Luis Romo, Edson Alvarez, Andres Guardado, Calos Rodruguez, Obed Vargas, Raul Jimenez

USA Team News

Pochettino will be without a number of first team stars for this match in Mexico, with Weston McKennie, Chris Richards, Giovanni Reyna all unavailable due to injury.

Christian Pulisic also pulled out of the squad due to an injury sustained with AC Milan. Therefore, a young team will take on the Mexican challenge on Tuesday, with Josh Sargent likely to be handed a start in the number nine position.

Possible Lineup

Matt Turner (GK); Auston Trusty, Tim Ream, Joe Scally, Antonee Robinson, Yunus Musah, Mark Tillman, Aidan Mooris, Brenden Aaronson, Josh Sargent

Mexico vs. USA Prediction

Pochettino will be without a number of key stars for the trip to Mexico on Tuesday. For that reason, we expect the home team to take full advantage against a weaker USA outfit. A home victory looks to be the most likely outcome.
