Minnesota United and Chicago Fire could decide which team goes to the knockout stage of the Leagues Cup. For the moment, United is in a better position with a win from the opening contest against Puebla, while Fire is yet to play its first meeting.

Before Betting on Minnesota United vs. Chicago Fire

Minnesota blasted Puebla in the opening round, packing four goals and not allowing a single one. For quite some time, the franchise from Minneapolis has been playing open and efficient football, and their latest victory isn’t odd at all.

Only two of their last 10 events across all the competitions, including one friendly, have been with at least three goals. On the other side, this is the third time in the previous five appearances for United to score at least three hits.

Chicago caught a good rhythm lately, winning five of the last six games in the MLS. This is a massive improvement for the unit from Illinois, who struggled at the start of the year. Back then, they weren’t in any of the postseason talks, but now, that changed.

Fire’s biggest strength is their defense, with them not allowing a single goal in the previous four victories. For one MLS team, that is a great success and an achievement we don’t see that often. Though, we need to point out that they play much better at home than on the road, where they have three wins in the past 10 outings.

Chicago’s excellent defense is much better at home than on the road, and we think that it won’t be that successful against the raging United attack. We do respect the Fire players, but in this case, our pick would be Minnesota.
