Can Denver’s Offense Keep Up With L.A.?

A big game to determine the landscape of the AFC West takes place in the MNF Broncos at Chargers matchup. L.A. can pull into a tie with Kansas City in the win column with a victory here, while also sending Denver to 2-4 just ahead of the 1-4 Raiders. A Denver win on Monday puts them into a tie with LAC at 3-3, both still just a game back from the Chiefs.

Of course in order for Denver to get a road win here they’re going to need to find their offense. New head coach Nathaniel Hackett was supposed to be an offensive guru brought over from Green Bay, but so far him and Russell Wilson have scored the fewest points in the NFL at 15.0 ppg. Wilson is completing less than 60% of his passes and has just 4 TDs to 3 INTs on the season.

Aside from their atrocious offense, Denver has put up some solid defensive numbers ranking third in the NFL in total yards allowed, passing yards given up, and total points (16.0). That defense hasn’t been invincible though, giving up 212 yards rushing to Las Vegas in a 32-28 loss in their last conference road game.

The Chargers hope to emulate the Raiders’ week four performance against Denver and they have the offense to do so. Justin Herbert quarterbacks the #2 passing attack in the NFL at 291.2 ypg and LAC is scoring the 8th most points in the league with 24.4. Los Angeles is back home after two road wins in Houston and Cleveland, but they were stomped 38-10 by Jacksonville in their last game at SoFi Stadium.

MNF Broncos Chargers Prediction

The MNF Broncos Chargers line has stayed firm at 4.5 at the offshore sportsbooks, but it’s still a line that seems off. Even though at 3-2 they’re just a game ahead of the 2-3 Broncos, Los Angeles has been the more impressive team aside from their loss to the Jaguars. Denver does have some extra rest from playing last Thursday, but this should still be a 6-7 point spread game. They’re telling us to take Denver and the points here.
