One of the most prestigious races on the Formula 1 calendar takes place on Sunday, May 28. The streets of Monaco will be lit up by the speedy F1 cars, as the Monaco Grand Prix takes place. It will be an enthralling event for motorsport fans, as the race forms part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport.

Before Betting On Monaco Grand Prix 2023

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious races on the F1 calendar, having been staged since 1929. It is one of the most unpredictable on the schedule, with drivers having to navigate tight corners, with many elevation chances throughout the 3.337km circuit. High speed crashes are always a likely occurrence, meaning safety car restarts are incredibly likely.

Sergio Perez landed victory in the race last year for the first time, as he finished over a second leg of Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen. The street specialist could once again have an excellent chance this year, having already landed victory on the streets of Baku earlier in the season.

However, Verstappen will be chasing a second win in Monaco, as he looks to move clear of his teammate in the Drivers’ Standings. The Dutchman was furious with the outcome last season, but he ultimately ended the season as the clear leader in the world championship standings.

Qualifying will be key for the race next week, as the grid will play a key role in the final outcome. That will put pressure on Charles Leclerc to emulate his performance last year, as he finished top of the time sheets, before failing to finish on the podium due to Ferrari’s race strategy.

Carlos Sainz may have finished second last year in Monaco, but the only other realistic danger could come in the form of the incredibly consistent Fernando Alonso. The Spanish driver has only finished off the podium on one previous occasion this season.
