Monaco and Fenerbahce have two wins apiece heading into Game 5 of the Euroleague playoffs. The French team will have a home-court edge, though, knowing them and Fener, this wasn’t such a big factor in previous matches.
Before Betting on Monaco vs. Fenerbahce
A stunning 62-65 win in Istanbul secured Monaco a chance to advance to the Final Four. That would be the biggest success for this team in its history, despite having one Euro Cup trophy. All eyes are pointed on Mike James, one of the best shooters in the league, who scores 17.9 points per game.
He had a tough one in Game 4, but when it mattered the most, the American guard hit a decisive three, which sealed the game. Center Donta Hall scored just six points, yet had eight boards, two steals and blocks, creating plenty of problems for the hosts under the rim. Elie Okobo had 13 points, team-high for Monaco.
Fener lived on three-point shooting in the previous event, hitting 11 downtown shots in 32 attempts. They had more boards (17 offensive !!), yet that didn’t help them to beat their rivals. In the moments when it mattered the most, they choked, missing some open shots and complicating their situation. That’s why a win in Monte Carlo is needed now.
Their high-octane offense will have to step up now. With 85.1 points per game, this unit has the fourth-best attack in the Euroleague. Former Florida Gator guard Scottie Wilbekin will have to take over the responsibility. He has delivered 13.2 points so far but has also been a clutch player for Fener over the past years.
