- The Green Bay Packers were humiliated in the season’s opening game against the Saints, 38-3.
- Detroit Lions left a much better impression against the San Francisco 49ers, despite losing 41-33.
- This might be a defining game of the seasons for the Packers and Aaron Rodgers.
Things haven’t started well for the Packers. After the “Aaron Rodgers’ saga” and all the turbulences Green Bay’s fans experienced during the offseason, they are now feeling even more pain. Nobody knows what will happen with the Packs in the near future.
Meanwhile, the Lions’ fans are already prepared to see their favorites losing this year. However, we need to say that the atmosphere is far better. Nobody expects anything from Detroit, but if they play like against the 49ers, we just might see the Lions providing several wins.

No Pressure for the Lions
Jared Goff looks… well, let’s say more relaxed. And he apparently lost the pressure once his team went behind the 49ers, which was the moment when the former No.2 pick decided to play ball. And he did. Goff threw for 338 yards, three TDs, and one pick, having 57 pass attempts and 38 completions. That is something we haven’t seen from him in a while. We expect him to stay in this gunslinging mood in the upcoming games, making the Lion very dangerous.
After leaving the team this offseason, Jamaal Williams will have a massive motive to give his best against the Packs. He did speak about it before the game, in a very interesting manner, which you could see underneath this paragraph.
The fact that there is no pressure for the Lions can only benefit the team from Michigan. Especially the offense keeps on going early on. Goff will have a perfect chance to revive his career with the Lions, and we can’t wait to see him getting into a fire mode as the season goes by.
Rodgers…Packs… Not Shinny at All
The reigning MVP had a lousy 133 yards, without a TD and with two picks against the Saints, with a QBR of 17.2. This was without a doubt one of ten worst games in his career. On top of that, Aaron Jones ran five times for nine yards, and when you put these two together, it’s no wonder why Packs suffered a humiliation against the Saints.
Za’Darius Smith is out for this event, which is a big blow for the home team. The LB is placed on the injury list, and will be unavailable for the next three matches.
Now, to come back to the relationship between Rodgers and the Packers. Despite what many believe, things are still far away from how they used to be before this summer. We wouldn’t be surprised if AR gets traded away during the season. This game will have a big impact on the future.
Lions vs. Packers Head to Head
The division rivals go way back. The current result in the series is 104 to 72 for the Packs with seven draws. GB has four triumphs in a row at the moment.
