Before Betting On Myrtle Beach Classic

Exciting new action on the PGA Tour will be staged this weekend in South Carolina, as the Myrtle Beach Classic makes its debut on the tour. Action at the event will get underway on Thursday, May 9, with the inaugural champion crowned on Sunday. It will be the first major professional event to be staged at the location in over 24 years.

Myrtle Beach is widely considered to be the ‘golf capital of the world’, which therefore means a talented field will be involved across the coming weekend. The course at Dunes Golf and Beach Club was opened in 1948, and it is ranked among the top 100 courses in the United States.

Daniel Berger will be among the leading contenders to claim victory in the first edition of the event this weekend. The American comes into the weekend after a strong outing at The CJ Cup at the start of May, as he finished 17-under to finish in a tie for 13th.

Davis Thompson will also be among the main contenders this weekend, despite having failed to make the cut at The CJ Cup last time out. However, the 24-year-old American had a strong amateur pedigree, and is one of few with a previous solid performance around the course.
