Shorthanded Philly Doing Well
Even without Joel Embiid, the 76ers post solid results and remain the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference. The big fella returned to basketball activities, but his return is still not set for any date. Before the injury, the Process was the top candidate to win the MVP honors, along with Nikola Jokic.
Over the past five games, Doc Rivers’ side had four wins before losing to the LA Clippers on Saturday night, 122-112. It was a tough match for both sides, but in the end, the Clips managed to end up on the winning side.
Tobias Harris scored 29 points with seven boards and six assists, while shooting 13-for-19 from the field. Danny Green made five threes for 17 points, and Ben Simmons dropped 15 and 7 boards. Embiid’s absence was evident, especially in those moments when the guests needed to score.
Nuggets Creating Chemistry With Gordon
Aaron Gordon is currently under heavy pressure because entire Colorado is looking towards this guy, expecting that he solves all the problems Mike Malone’s team had in the past. To be honest, we aren’t thrilled with him landing in Denver, but perhaps we end up being wrong.
Against the Hawks, Gordon scored 13 points, with the Nuggets easily handling the rivals 126-103. The newcomer from Orlando began the game as a starter, and was 6-for-9 from the field, but with just one board. All the hosts’ starters were in double-digits. Murray had 17, Jokis 16 with 10 boards and 8 assists, while MPJ scored 15 and grabbed 10 rebounds.
JaMychal Green was the top scorer with 20 buckets in 14 minutes. He’s been pretty solid this season, shooting 40.2% from downtown for 8.1 points and 5.4 rebounds.
76ers vs Nuggets Head to Head
The first game this season took place at the Wells Fargo Center and the Nuggets won that one. 115-103. It was the match that saw the hosts appearing with just 7 players due to the COVID-19 rules and safety protocols. Tyrese Maxey had a superb night with 39 points. On the other side, Jokic was one board short of a triple-double with 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds.
76ers vs Nuggets Prediction and Pick
Without Embiid in the lineup, the 76ers will be easy prey for the Nuggets, who are looking very solid at the moment. Also, the fact that Philly’s players played four tough road games and that they traveled constantly is another reason to bet on the hosts winning this event.
