The Milwaukee Bucks are closing in on their spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs, and they have shown some of their best form most recently. Milwaukee have won four of their last six games in the NBA, which has included big wins against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets. The latter of those was their most recent game in the NBA, as they claimed a 117-114 victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo once again showed exactly why he is regarded as one of the best players in the league in that game, as he scored an incredible 49 points.
The Greek star also added eight rebounds and contributed four assists. Khris Middleton also played well in the weekend game, as he scored 26 points and eleven rebounds. Jrue Holiday and Bryn Forbes were the only other two players to score at least ten points for the Bucks. Holiday scored 18, while Forbes finished with 12.
Nets Hoping To Respond
The Nets will need to respond from that recent defeat, as they handed the advantage to the Bucks down the final stretch. Nets were outscored in the final period 27-24, which handed the win to the Bucks. It all came after such a positive start for the Nets, as they were dominant in the opening quarter as they outscored the Bucks 37-28. Kevin Durant produced one of his best performances of the season in the defeat, as he scored 42 points and ten rebounds. He was having the carry the load for his team, as James Harden was rested since the Nets place in the playoffs was already assured.
Kyrie Irving scored 20 in the defeat for the Nets, while Landry Shamet and Blake Griffin finished with 17 and 11 points respectively. Brooklyn will need to improve in the field on Tuesday night, as the scored on just 42.7% of their efforts. Both the Bucks and Nets were successful from the three-point line over the weekend, as they both finished with success rates of 40.5%.
