Bulls vs Spurs Preview

The Chicago Bulls made a lot of noise during the trade deadline. It appears that they are about to become one pretty serious team, according to the experts. After Nikola Vucevic’s arrival, this team has the serious potential not just to reach the playoffs this season, but to become a regular member of the same during the upcoming years. On the other side, a lot was expected from San Antonio these days, but nothing happened. They, too, were interested in landing the Montenegrin center, but in the end, they simply didn’t have enough resources for the same.

Bulls vs Spurs Spread and Lines

Let’s See the New Bulls

The fans in Chicago didn’t feel this much excitement since Derrick Rose won the MVP trophy. Back then, the Bulls were a real title contender. At this point, the current generation of Chicago’s players is nowhere near that level, but the fans are thrilled to have yet another superstar on the roster. In a year or two, the Bulls might become a top 5 team in the conference, which is a big deal.

Vucevic brings 24.5 points with 11.8 boards, along with excellent 48% shooting from the floor and 40.5% from downtown. Apart from that, he is a gamechanger and a player who is able to score regardless of his opponent.

With Zach LaVine, who is among the top guards in the league, the big man should form an axis that will terrorize most of the teams in the league. LaVine drops 28.1 points per night, and we expect them to become a superb duo.

San Antonio’s Shaky Period

With four losses in a row, the Spurs are on a downhill. They didn’t do anything notable during the trade deadline apart from freeing LaMarcus Aldridge, and their team didn’t bring any big-time players. It seems that Gregg Popovich and the board prefer to wait the summer and attack the market then.

They played the previous three games at home, and have six more before hitting the road. After losing to the Charlotte Hornets, Spurs would drop two more events to the LA Clippers in back-to-back nights, wasting a solid performance in the latter, which ended 98-85 for the LA team.

DeMar DeRozan had 23 points with four assists, while Dejuonte Murray added 18 with seven assists and six boards. Overall, the Spurs were terrible in almost all the aspects of the game. For example, they made just 8 threes and had 16 assists in total, which is pretty bad for one playoff contender.

Bulls vs Spurs Prediction and Pick

Even though we wrote so many nice words about the Bulls and their future, we need to side with the Spurs in this event. It is pretty hard to believe that Gregg Popovich’s side might lose four straight at AT&T Center. But not just that. It is still not confirmed whether Vucevic might play at all. Even with him in the lineup, the Spurs are favorites for us, and simply we have to back up their triumph.
