Game two of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers takes place on Sunday. The Cavaliers were heavy underdogs heading into this series, but appear to be able to compete with the Warriors. The Cavaliers were able to force overtime, before falling to the Warriors 124-114 in game 1.

This is the fourth straight NBA Finals matchup between these two teams. The Warriors defeated the Cavs in 5 games to win the 2017 championship. Golden State has home court advantage during this series, and will host game 2 in Oracle Arena.  The Cleveland Cavaliers are +12.5 over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Kevin Love Returns for Cavs

The status of Kevin Love was unclear before game 1, but Love was able to suit up for the Cavaliers in the series opener. Love finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds in the overtime loss. The Cavaliers are in desperate need of production from their role players, and Love will need to have another great game on Sunday for the Cavs.

LeBron James was unstoppable in game 1 of the series, pouring in 51 points while playing a remarkable 48 minutes. James has been carrying the underdog Cavaliers through the entire playoffs, and was almost able to lead his team to a series opening victory. King James will need another stellar performance in game 2 if the Cavs will have any chance.

Warriors Have No Answer for LeBron

The Warriors had no answer for LeBron in game 1, and they were lucky to survive with a win. Golden State is hoping that Andre Iguodala is able to return to the lineup for game two to help them defensively. Iguodala is the best defender on the Warriors and would draw the defensive assignment against James. Coach Steve Kerr will have to make defensive adjustments, with or without Iguodala, to try to slow down James in game 2.

The Warriors are known for breaking games open after halftime, but they were unable to break free from the Cavaliers. The Warriors gave up 19 offensive rebounds to the Cavaliers in game 1, which limited their ability to get out on the fast break. Golden State must rebound better in game two in order to get some pace and flow on offense.

Warriors Win Another Tight Game

The Warriors were heavy favorites to win the NBA Championship, but have looked vulnerable in the last few games. Golden State needs to get back to making three point shots at a higher percentage in game two. The Warriors have an explosive offensive attack, led by Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, and need to get back to playing crisp offensive basketball.

LeBron James continues to do whatever it takes to keep his Cavalier team in the game. If the Cavaliers get continued production from Love and George Hill, LeBron might have enough help to defeat the Warriors. The Warriors will try to get hot from deep in game 2, but LeBron James will keep the game close.

Take the Cleveland Cavaliers +12.5 over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
