Suns Looking To Extend Advantage
The Phoenix Suns are looking to win their first NBA title this season, and they couldn’t have got off to a better start in the finals series on Tuesday evening. It was a dominant display against the Bucks with no sign of nerves on show at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. The Suns claimed victory by winning 118-105. Phoenix managed to get their noses in front in the opening period, by outscoring the Bucks 30-26. That advantage was only extended in the second and third periods, as they outscored the Bucks 27-23 and 35-27 respectively.
Chris Paul was the star of the show in the conference finals against the LA Clippers, and he continued that strong form with another dominant display in game one. Paul scored 32 points, nine assists and four rebounds against the Bucks. Devin Booker also chipped in with 27 points, while Deandre Ayton finished game one with 22 points. Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and Cameron Payne also finished with double-digit totals.
Bucks Need To Respond
It was a disappointing opening night of the series for the Bucks, as they were well beaten by the Suns ultimately. Milwaukee looked to be chasing the game from the early stages, and never looked comfortable throughout. Despite multiple reports, Giannis Antetokounmpo was passed fit to start in the opening game, as he played 35 minutes. But, even the Greek freak didn’t have the quality to get the Bucks closer in the opening game of the finals series.
Giannis finished with 20 points from his 35 minutes on the court. Only Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton played longer in game one of the series that Giannis. Holiday played 40 minutes and scored ten points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Meanwhile Middleton scored 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Milwaukee would have been most disappointed with their success rate from the free throw line, as they scored on just nine from 16 efforts.

The victory for the Suns means that they have now won the last four meetings between the franchises. Three of those victories came in the regular season, while the most recent win came in the playoffs. The Bucks will need to end this run to stay alive in the series.
