Road To The Finals- LA Lakers
The Lakers have been getting better and better as the season has progressed this term, and so far in the playoffs they have been able to go into a new gear to ensure that they get the wins that they need. The Lakers overcome the Portland Trail Blazers in their opening game in the playoffs. They lost the opening game of the series, before going onto win the next four to secure their place in the next round.
Their series against the Houston Rockets followed a very similar pattern, and the Rockets won the opening game of the semi-final series 112-97. However, the Lakers came back to win the next four games in the series once again. They also won the three final games of the series by at least ten points. The Denver Nuggets were the final side standing in their way, but once again they were able to get through with a 4-1 series victory.
An unlikely turnaround was threatened after a game three success for the Nuggets, but the Lakers showcased their dominance to win game four 114-108, and then game five 117-107. LeBron James scored a remarkable 38 points in that final success, and the Miami Heat will only be too aware of the prowess that James has in Championship games.
Road To The Finals- Miami Heat
Not for the first time in the NBA Playoffs, the Miami Heat will be coming into this series as the huge outsiders. Not many experts predicted that the Heat would get past the first round, let alone reach the championship game itself. Miami come up against the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks in the opening round, but they made incredible short work of the heavily backed Bucks. They won the opening three games, before getting the vital fourth win in game five of the series.
The Heat have an incredible knack of having points across their team, and that was the decisive factor against the Boston Celtics. Once again, the Heat were underdogs, but they took a stranglehold on the series by winning the first two games. Tyler Herro was the star in game four, as he scored 37 points. That total broke the record by a rookie that was set by Dwayne Wade. Miami finished the job in game six as they claimed a 125-113 victory. Bam Adebayo was the star on that evening, as he scored 32 points.
NBA Finals: LA Lakers vs Miami Heat Series Prediction
This will not be as clear cut as many may have believed when the playoffs got underway. The Heat have the quality to hurt the Lakers, and the favourites will need to make sure that they give enough respect to this factor. However, the Lakers remain the preference, but it could go to game six.
