Excellent Memphis Grizzlies are determined to extend their six-game winning streak and defeat the San Antonio Spurs for the second time in a row. These two teams played two nights ago, with the Grizzlies posting an easy win. The team from Memphis is very good at the moment, with Ja Morant back in action and pounding as if he didn’t have any injury whatsoever. On the other side, the Spurs are oscillating, playing in waves, winning, then losing, over and over. If they continue at this tempo, playoffs might become mission impossible for Gregg Popovich and his crew.

Grizzlies at Spurs Preview

Upgraded Memphis

With 8 wins and 6 losses, the Grizzlies have a lot to catch up, as they had some games postponed due to COVID-19 problems. It seems that such pause suited them well because Grizzs have six straight wins and are looking marvelous.

Eleven of their players have 8 or more points per night, making the team from Memphis unguardable in certain moments. Whoever comes off the bench will drop a few points, and the rivals’ head coaches are banging their heads against the wall once needing to make a gameplan for the matchup against the Grizzlies.

Ja Morant is the absolute leader, but he played only six games so far, and that shows that the rest of the crew has enough potential, and that this isn’t a one-man-show team.

Mediocre San Antonio

Let’s be honest, we expected more from San Antonio. We always expect something unusual from Gregg Popovich and his team, but this year, the Spurs are nothing more than an average, faceless crew. Sorry folks, but that is the situation.

They are 11-9 nine, and will most definitely have to enter a fierce fight for the playoffs with a few teams, only we aren’t sure if they can endure it and reach the postseason. This team doesn’t have a leader, and even though there are several stars on the roster, neither is justifying that status.

DeMar DeRozan scores 19.8 points per night with 6.7 assists and 4.2 boards, but is unconvincing in the clutch moments. LaMarcus Aldridge posts miserable 14.2 points with 4.5 boards, and except for having a high salary, he doesn’t have any notable influence on the Spurs’ organization. Of course, that high salary having a negative impact.

Grizzlies vs. Spurs Head to Head

Memphis was routine a couple of nights ago, beating the Spurs, 129-112, and showing all of its quality. The guests from Tennessee had 7 players with at least 14 points. Enough said about them.

Grizzles vs. Spurs Pick and Prediction

We will back up the Grizzlies to win once again and continue their rampage. This young team has a chance to explode during this campaign because they developed perfect chemistry, with everyone knowing its role, which is pretty important in the NBA these days. Even though you might find it hard to believe that the Grizzlies can beat the Spurs twice in a row in San Antonio, that is the new reality in the league. The new dogs are on the block.
