There will be a huge game at the top of the Western Conference on Wednesday evening, as the Los Angeles Clippers welcome the Utah Jazz to the Staples Center.

Jazz Lead Tussle For Top Spot

It has been a pulsating season of basketball so far, and that only looks set to continue with a blockbuster match up in the Western Conference on Wednesday night. The Utah Jazz will make the visit to Los Angeles off the back of a remarkable run of form, as they have won their last eight in the NBA. No other side boasts a better record than the Western Conference leaders, while the Jazz have also lost the fewest games in the whole of the NBA this term. They have only been beaten on five occasions in 28 games, with only one of those defeats coming in their last ten games.

The Jazz are seriously in form, and are looking like a good thing to be the side that tops the very competitive Western Conference at the end of the season. Utah picked up a win over the Eastern Conference leaders in their last game, as they beat the Philadelphia 76ers 134-123, with Jordan Clarkson scoring a remarkable 40 points in his 29 minutes on the court. Donovan Mitchell added 24, while there were 20 points for Joe Ingles.

Clippers On Winning Run

The Jazz won’t be the only side that will be coming into this contest with a run of good form behind them, as the Clippers have won their last four, and are breathing down the necks of the Los Angeles Lakers, who currently sit in second in the Western Conference. The Clippers have been consistent over recent games, and have built up momentum over their last ten, as they have won seven and lost on just three occasions. Los Angeles picked up another win in their last NBA fixture, as they came out on top against the Miami Heat.

After falling behind in the opening period, the Clippers comfortably got their noses in front, and pressed home to take the advantage in the final period, as they outscored last season’s NBA finalists 33-27. Kawhi Leonard was rested for that game against the Heat, but the mantle was picked up by Marcus Morris Sr, who top-scored for the Clippers with 32 points, three rebounds and two assists. Meanwhile, Ivica Zubac scored 22, Lou Williams had 18 and Amir Coffey and Terance Mann both scored 15 in the comfortable win. Leonard should be back in the starting line-up for the visit of the Jazz on Wednesday night.

Jazz vs Clippers Pick

This has the potential to be one of the games of the season so far, as both the Jazz and Clippers are at the very top of their game. However, the preference has to be for the Jazz, as they have been relentless over their last ten games, and look capable of rising to any challenge put in front of them.
