Suns In Complete Control
The Phoenix Suns look to already have a vice-lock grip on this Western Conference semi-final series, as they come into the game in Denver with a 2-0 series lead. Phoenix have certainly been one of the franchises that look best placed to win the NBA this season, as they have already knocked out the defending champions. They breezed past the Los Angeles Lakers with a game to spare, as they beat the Lakers 4-2. The Suns have looked unfazed against the Nuggets to this point, as they have won by a clear advantage in both games to this point.
They beat the Nuggets in the first game between the franchises 122-105. The first half was a close affair, before the Suns scored an impressive 65 points in the second period. Their ability to step it up to another gear was something that the Nuggets just couldn’t deal with. Four players scored at least 20 points in the win, with Mikal Bridges scoring 23, while Devin Booker and Chris Paul both scored 21.
Nuggets Need To Respond
It would seem that even a superstar such as Nikola Jokic may have a job to help the Nuggets get out of this situation. Denver are certainly just a couple of players away from a team that could compete at this stage of the season. They beat the Portland Trail Blazers in six games in the opening round of the playoffs, as they claimed a 4-2 success. However, they would need to produce one of the biggest shocks in recent memory to make the Western Conference finals this season.
There has been a bit of a gulf between the teams so far in this series, as they were well beaten in game two of the series. The Suns claimed a 123-98 victory, as they led from start to finish. The Nuggets would have been disappointed that they started the game slowly, as it was always an uphill battle. Devin Booker scored the most points for the Suns in the win, as he finished with 18. Meanwhile, Chris Paul had 17 and Deandre Ayton had 15. Nikola Jokic was the highest scorer on the court, as he finished with 24.

It looks like a tall order for the Denver Nuggets to get back into this series, as they will need to win both of the next two games to remain in with a chance. Based on the first two games, we can’t see that happening, and it’s likely that the Suns will take a 3-0 series lead on Friday.
