Three NBA scrimmage games took place tonight in the Orlando buble this Sunday. The Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers all posted victories.
OKC Snatches a Win Over the 76ers
It was Andre Robinson who delivered a win to the Thunder with two straight threes in the crucial moment of the match, The sharpshooting forward was calm when needed the most, bringing his team to back-to-back wins here in Orlando.
OKC demolished the 76ers in the last quarter, once they scored twice as many points as the rivals, 32-16, exploiting all the weaknesses Philly displayed.
A big handicap for Brett Brown’s side was the absence of Joel Embiid, who didn’t play after picking up an injury against the Grizzlies. His current status is still unknown, and the Process’ appearing in the first games of the NBA restart is questionable.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 16 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists hitting five of his fifteen attempts from the floor. Steven Adams had 11 and 9 boards, Bazley and Dort scored 13 each.
On the other side, Ben Simmons was one assist short of a triple-double, 14 points, 11 boards, and nine assists. Alec Burks had 13 and 6 rebounds, and Al Horford added 13 with nine boards.
Celtics to Take Down the Suns
Boston lost to Oklahoma in their opening scrimmage game, but tonight they would routinely beat the Suns, 117-103. The key difference was made in the middle quarters, with the Celtics trailing after the opening sequence, but quickly bouncing back.
Their overall quality eventually emerged to the surface, and the young Suns didn’t have too much to hope for, especially when shooting 38.9% from the field which was way lower than Boston’s 48.8%.
Jaylen Brown had a game-high 21 points in 27 minutes. Gordon Hayward had 17 with six boards, and Jason Tatum was one rebound short of posting a double-double, 16 points, and nine boards.
As for the Suns, Booker scored 17, added nine assists and four boards, Bridges had 16 and five rebounds, Johnson 13, Saric 12, and 8 rebounds.
Indiana Wins Again
The Pacers are looking more than comfortable in these circumstances, and after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, they beat one other team from the West, Dallas Mavs. The final result was 118-111 for Indiana, who had an awful start of the match.
After the first period, Dallas had an 11-point edge, but quickly lost that in the very next quarter, with the swing shifting to Indiana’s side. After the second, they also won the third, and that was the period once Dallas lost its control over the matters.
Warren from Indiana had 20 points, and 6 boards, Malcolm Brogdon scored 17 buckets had 7 rebounds and six dimes.
Victor Oladipo surprised everyone with his performance. The All-Star guard played 28 minutes, delivering 16 points and seven rebounds, indicating that his shape is just getting better and better.
Myles Turner had 15 and 8.
Among the Mavs, Doncic played a superb game, needing just one assist to capture another triple-double -20 points, 11 boards, and nine dimes.
Maxi Kleber delivered 18, JJ Barea 14 and 6 boards and assists each. Boban had 11 buckets and 6 rebounds.
