It’s Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament – and in Wichita on Saturday – the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks will take on the 8th seeded Seton Hall Pirates. The winner of this game will head to the Sweet 16 in Omaha and take on Auburn/Charleston or Clemson/New Mexico State. The top seeded Kansas Jayhawks are 28-7 on the season, coming off a first round win over the Penn Quakers. The Jayhawks started slow, but won 76-60 in the game.

The Seton Hall Pirates led coast to coast over the North Carolina State Wolf Pack and won their first round game. The Pirates come into the second round with a 22-11 record. The Pirates finished third in the Big East standings this season. In this game on Saturday the Kansas Jayhawks are -4.5 over the Seton Hall Pirates on Saturday.

Pirates Looking for Upset

The Seton Hall Pirates are the underdogs in this game, and feel they have a ton to prove. The Big East saw them take on the top ranked Villanova Wildcats, and Xavier Musketeers a total of 4 times, and they lost them all. The Pirates in the Big East tournament fell to Butler by a point. That loss came just a couple days after beating the Bulldogs to close the regular season.

The Pirates top scorer this season has been Khadeen Carrington. In the win over North Carolina State, he scored 26 points, while Desi Rodridguez added 20. On the season, Carrington and Rodriguez are combining for more than 32 points per game. As a team, the Pirates are scoring just shy of 80 points per game. This is the 11th season the Pirates have been in the NCAA Tournament, and they are seeking their 16th tournament win.

Jayhawks Looking for Another Sweet 16 Trip

The Kansas Jayhawks under Bill Self are used to the Sweet 16. For a guy that gets hammered over his lack of success in the postseason, Bill Self continues to have his Jayhawks competing for a title. Kansas has won 104  total NCAA Tournament games, and have been to the Final Four 14 times. The Jayhawks are 10 years removed from winning the title back in 2008.

Devonte Graham has been the best player for the Jayhawks this season, and was much of the reason for the 22-5 run to get them on top and stay there against Penn. Graham had 19 first half points. On the season, the guard that never comes out of the game scored 17.6 points per game. Kansas is one of the top scoring teams in all of College Basketball, as they scored just shy of 81.5 points per game.

Kansas Moves to Sweet 16

It’s about survive and advance at this time of season. The Kansas Jayhawks are the top seed, and are looking to move on to Omaha, where Auburn or Clemson are two of the favorites to meet them. The guard play of the Kansas Jayhawks is what we expect to lead through. Kansas and their guards take care of Seton Hall, and the Jayhawks win by nearly 10 points. Bet on the Kansas Jayhawks are -4.5 over the Seton Hall Pirates on Saturday at MyBookie.
