Brooklyn Nets and Philadephia 76ers clash in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Sixers have a home-court edge.

Before Betting on the Nets vs. 76ers Game 1

Brooklyn Nets were one of the top favorites to win the title before the start of the year, but the tectonic changes this team has endured changed the landscape of its roster. They don’t have superstars anymore, and are far from the league’s elite echelon, yet they still have the power to create trouble for their rivals.

Mikal Bridges and Spencer Dinwiddie are the top two players of this unit, with the first scoring 26.1 points per game, and Dinwiddie adding 16.5 with 9.1 assists. This team looks pretty formidable and fluid, and with one or two additions during the summer, it could become a pretty tough rival next year.

Joel Embiid is probably the new NBA MVP, with the Process winning this award after his strong finish of the year and 52 points against the Celtics. Though, we don’t forget that he ducked on Jokic in Colorado, and that leaves some doubts about his honors.

The playoffs won’t be all about Embiid, but completely the opposite, Harden and Maxey, who need to step up and start doing their thing. It isn’t as if they didn’t do the same until now, but we need to see the Beard in his offensive more once again. Throughout the year, he had 21 points and 10.7 assists, which was solid, but he still needs to be better.

The Sixers were confident in the finish of the season, and we need to bet on their victory in this event. Even though the Nets, too, played solid basketball, they have nothing to hope for at the Wells Fargo Center.
