It’s been a long time since Conference USA foes the New Mexico State Aggies (10-3) and the #24 Liberty Flames (12-0) have met up this season – way back in week 2 to be exact when the Flames took home a 33-17 victory. NMSU can exact their revenge on Friday night by spoiling Liberty’s undefeated season while taking

Before Betting on New Mexico State vs Liberty

It’s been a special season for both programs, with Liberty going 12-0 in their first year as a member of C-USA and New Mexico State tallying a double digit win total for just the second time in the last 60+ years. There will be no disappointment to the loser on Friday, but a defeat may cost the Flames a group of five spot for one of the premier bowl games to be decided by the CFP committee early next week.

Both teams come into Friday’s matchup hot, with the Flames obviously winning all 12 of their games this season but New Mexico being 9-1 since the loss to Liberty back in early September. The Aggies might have the more impressive win of either team in this game, beating SEC opponent Auburn 31-10 on the road on November 18th. C-USA underdogs have also gone 4-1 ATS in the last five conference championship games.

Both teams have changed a lot since their week 2 matchup, but it’s hard to overlook how dominant Liberty was in the first meeting. The Flames ran for 250 yards, QB Kaidon Salter threw for 276 and 2 TDs on just 15 completions and the Liberty defense also forced three turnovers.

New Mexico State vs Liberty Prediction & Pick

This is one of the conference championship games that isn’t played on a neutral field, so the Liberty faithful in Lynchburg, VA are going to be a factor in this one. The last four Flames wins have been by double digits and they dominated New Mexico State earlier in the season so Liberty looks like they win this one big.

Pick: Liberty -11
