The Knicks surged back to win Game 2 after trailing by 10 at halftime. Now, Indiana is even more desperate for a win in Game 3 to avoid falling one game away from elimination. The Pacers need to take advantage of New York’s lack of depth due to injuries. OG Anunoby was the latest to join the list of injured players for the Knicks.

Before Betting on Knicks vs Pacers

The Knicks trailed the Pacers 73-63 at halftime on Wednesday after Jalen Brunson missed the 2nd quarter with a sore foot. He returned in the 2nd half, leading New York to a 36-18 advantage in the 3rd quarter. After closing out the win in the 4th, the Knicks took a 2-0 lead in this series. Josh Hart has also been huge for them, and has averaged over 48 minutes per game in his last five games.

Unfortunately, New York continues to deal with the injury bug. After losing Julius Randle for the season a few months ago, they added Mitchell Robinson and Bojan Bogdonavich to the shut down for the year list prior to this series. Now, the Knicks enter Game 3 with OG Anunoby out with a hamstring injury, and Brunson remaining questionable. The “next man up” mentality has worked for the Knicks, but they’re running out of men.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are desperate to win in Game 3 back at home to avoid falling behind 3-0 in the series. Tyrese Haliburton had a major bounce-back performance in Game 2. He scored 34 points and added 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. After scoring just 6 points in Game 1, Haliburton managed to return to form. Indiana needs him to continue playing well to have a chance at coming back in this series.

With OG Anunoby out and Brunson at best playing through injury, the Knicks are set up for a tough two games in Indiana. It’s possible that one of their other contributors could step up big, but it’s going to be very difficult for a depleted Knicks team to keep up. The Pacers can utilize their depth and offensive talent to take advantage of New York’s banged-up rotation. Indiana is likely to bounce back in Game 3.
