A huge weekend in the Premier League lies in wait for Newcastle, as the pressure is growing on Eddie Howe, as the Magpies have lost each of their last three. Things don’t get much easier this weekend, as they come up against a Brentford side that are unbeaten in the top-flight this term.

Before Betting On Newcastle vs Brentford

It has been a miserable start to the new Premier League season for Newcastle United, as the Magpies sit in the bottom half of the standings after winning just once in their opening four matches. They also come into this fixture after suffering defeats in each of their last three, with the most recent of those coming against Brighton before the international break.

Defensively, Newcastle have been really poor in recent Premier League matches, as they have kept just two clean sheets in their last 22 matches. In fact, of the sides that were in the competition last term, no side has kept fewer clean sheets over the same period since the start of February. They could lose four straight games for the first time since January 2021 this weekend.

Brentford will be the visitors this weekend, and they will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the new season after going four without a defeat. However, draws are becoming a slight issue for the Bees, as they have been held on three occasions already this term. But, they are an incredibly difficult team to beat, evident from the fact that they have lost just once in their last eleven.

However, the head-to-head record could be key this weekend, as Newcastle have won seven of the last eight meetings between the sides. Brentford’s only away win against the Magpies was recorded in September 1934, and they are winless on their previous five visits to Newcastle.

Newcastle are in desperate need of a positive result this weekend, and there will be pressure on them to pick up maximum points. This could be a high-scoring fixture in the Premier League, but we fully expect the Magpies to get back on track.
