Newcastle hosts PSG at St. James’ Park, which is the main event of Wednesday’s Champions League program. The two units opened the campaign with positive results and now seek to continue in the same manner.

Before Betting on Newcastle vs. PSG

A staggering 8-0 over Sheffield United was the initial spark for Newcastle’s awakening. This remarkable performance preceded their success against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup days after, and it appears that the Magpies finally stabilized. It is true that City did not field their best lineup, but this does not in any way diminish the significance of Newcastle’s victory.

Eddie Howe’s boys posted another success this weekend against Burnley, 2-0, which was the fifth in a row for the team from the north in which it hasn’t conceded a goal. During that span, Newcastle has four triumphs and one tie, with a combined goal difference of 12-0. And that’s impressive, regardless of what everyone thinks about their style of play.

Mbappe is ready to play against Newcastle, but his performance against Clermont on the road has been rather mediocre. The entire team looked sluggish, and it’s no wonder why we saw the French champs getting out only one point, 0-0.

If it is of any consolation, the defense once again played well, and it didn’t allow a goal in the third straight contest. After keeping a clean sheet vs. Dortmund and Marseille, this was another solid display of the back line. Luis Enrique slowly puts all the pieces of the puzzle in its place, and the Spaniard’s decision to renounce Neymar and several other stars might be a jackpot.

Newcastle’s defense is rock-solid, and even though PSG has a tremendous attack, we still aren’t sure about the French unit’s domination. Despite what everyone believes, we are in for under 2.5 goals, which might be a surprise for the majority of the readers. Both teams will be cautious, which won’t bring too many goals.
