The NFL preseason is on. Among several very interesting matchups, one stands above the others, as the Houston Texans visit the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before Betting on Texans vs. Steelers Preseason Week 1
The Texans’ head coach, DeMeco Ryans, informed the media and the public that he intends to send the best offense on Heinz Field on Monday night. It means that the fans will have a chance to see how CJ Stroud and Stefon Diggs look together.
We have to mention that the Texans already played one contest, the Hall of Fame Game, losing it to the Bears 17-21. However, they didn’t have their best offense in that event, as Davis Mills took the lead with rookies and those fighting to earn a spot on the roster.
On the other hand, Mike Tomlin stated that the battle for the quarterback starter is on. Both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson have equal chances, but in this event, Fields should start because Wilson isn’t 100% ready to play. The former Chicago Bears quarterback, who ended up in Pennsylvania this summer, is highly motivated to prove his worth, and we can expect him to give his best.
Do know that Tomlin likes competing in the preseason games, and that his record so far is 40-21, so we don’t believe that the Steelers’ HC will allow the Texans to beat him in his own house. We just might see Pittsburgh with some of their starters as well.
Texans vs. Steelers Head to Head
The two’s previous meeting was in January last year, when Houston demolished the Steelers in Texas, 30-6. Stroud had 306 passing yards for two, while Nico Collins caught 168 receiving yards for two TDs.
Texans vs. Steelers NFL Preseason Week 1 Offshore Betting Odds
The current line for total points is 37.5, which is, in our opinion, too low, especially considering that the Texans plan to appear with their best offense. Tomlin needs to match that, which is why we pick over.
