NFL Thanksgiving Fantasy Picks

Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions – 12:30 PM EST

The Lions host the Bears in the NFL’s first Thanksgiving football game of the day. Detroit always plays on Thanksgiving, but is never as good as the 10-1 record they currently hold. With Super Bowl aspirations and the NFL’s best record, the Lions will be expected to win this game by dominating the Bears on both sides of the ball.

This matchup may be low-scoring, but any offense that occurs is likely to come through the air. With Amon-Ra St. Brown banged up, expect WR Jameson Williams to step up. TE Sam LaPorta, who is having a poor fantasy season, should also make an impact in this game. For the Bears, Rome Odunze is coming off of two straight games with 10 targets and has a good chance of exposing a shaky Detroit secondary as Chicago’s top weapon.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys – 4:30 PM EST

New York and Dallas face off in the second NFL Thanksgiving game of the day. The Giants and Cowboys are both having terrible seasons, setting this game up to be the worst of the day. Even so, it’s a classic rivalry that should prove to be fun regardless. Expect a low-scoring matchup with two shaky backup QBs leading the way.

Tyrone Tracy and Rico Dowdle are both talented young running backs that will be heavily leaned on to support their struggling offenses. Both should reach the end zone at some point on Thursday and may account for the vast majority of the offensive production. While both defenses have regressed, they should be at an advantage in this game. Of the six teams playing on Thanksgiving, Dallas has the best odds of a strong defensive result.

Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers – 8:20 PM EST

Miami and Green Bay cap off the NFL’s Thanksgiving football slate on Thursday night. The Dolphins have been resurgent since QB Tua Tagovailoa returned from injury. Both Tua and Miami should continue their momentum this week, even against a tough Packers defense. The Dolphins are knocking on the door to the playoff picture.

With Tua back, Miami’s offense has looked excellent. That should continue in this game, which is likely to be a high-scoring clash between two capable teams. Expect both Tagovailoa and RB De’Von Achane to have strong showings as the Dolphins rely on their offense to carry the team to victory. At the same time, kicker Jason Sanders should also get plenty of opportunities, making him a prime pick for that position in your daily lineup.
