The AFC South clash between the Texans and the Colts opens their 2023 NFL season. Houston has high hopes from this campaign, while the Colts are still trying to find themselves and hopefully establish a foundation for the future. By the way, here are more NFL Picks.

Before Betting on Texans vs. Colts NFL Week 1

Texans had massive landings this summer. First and foremost, they’ve acquired Stefon Diggs, one of the best WRs in the league. Second, Joe Mixon came to Texas, and that’s another great move of the front office, who now handed CJ Stroud one hell of a unit around him.

Now, the team lost defensive linemen Collins and Rankins, yet some replacements are in sight. Plenty of youngsters did well during the preseason, when Texans posted three wins and one loss, not allowing the rivals to pass the 17-point mark.

Anthony Richardson will be the key to the Colts’ season. He had one year to adapt to the NFL, and with young Shane Steichen taking over the head coaching duties, we expect Richardson to become the team’s leader.

The Colts, who had two wins and a loss in the preseason, looked fairly well. We believe that the second-round rookie, WR Adonai Mitchell, might be a big steal for Indianapolis. When mentioning rookies, edge Laiatu Latu is set to explode, and our personal opinion is that he can turn out to be the defensive rookie of the year.

Texans vs. Colts Head to Head

There were 45 meetings between these franchises. The Colts have a much better record, 33 wins, the Texans 11, and one event saw no winners. Last year, both teams split a win, with the guests being triumphant. At first, the Colts beat the Texans in Houston, 31-20, but Stroud and the boys responded at the Lucas Oil Field, 23-19.

Stroud has an elite offense, or at least a near one. With Diggs down the field and Mixon behind him, this team has the potential to reach the playoffs once again. The Colts still need to develop and improve, and at this stage, we would go with the Texans to win.
