The two of the biggest contenders for the Super Bowl trophy this year clash at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The Saints want to win and erase last week’s defeat against the Eagles. On the other side, the Chiefs can’t gamble, as a loss here potential returns the Steelers at the AFC conference’s top spot. Oh, not to forget, the Saints, too, are chasing the top spot in their, NFC conference. So, this meeting has a pretty high significance, and that guarantees a fierce battle in Louisiana.

Chiefs Hope to see Their Last Road Trip Until SB
If they win here, the champions have two more easy games at home (against the Chargers and the Broncos), and they should be safe atop of the AFC. Why is that important? Still, with Patrick Mahomes onboard, the Chiefs are not afraid at all. Their quarterback is the only MVP candidate, along with Aaron Rodgers. So far, he has 33 touchdown passes and only nine picks, and most of his 4208 yards went towards Travis Kelce.
Chiefs TE became the only player in that position in history with five straight 1000+yards. Not only that, it seems that Kelce raised his form in the most important part of the year. In four of the past five games, the Chiefs’ top receiving option caught at least 127 yards.
Brees or No Brees?
Sean Payton started Taysom Hill at the quarterback position in the recent four matches, with Drew Brees being injured. The all-around Saints’ joker was more than well, with the team posting three wins and a loss against the Eagles last week. That defeat came mostly due to fantastic Jalen Hurts, who couldn’t be stopped.
The situation with Brees is tricky. He is apparently ready to play, but there is a big dilemma for Payton. This is one of the most important games of the regular part of the season, and Brees would come in handy. However, KC’s defense is ruthless, and it wouldn’t be smart for him to throw the veteran passer into the fire just like that.
In Brees absence, Alvin Kamara will be the Saints’ main weapon, with the versatile running back being the best rusher and receiver in New Orleans with 14 TDs in total and 1422 yards from the scrimmage at the moment.
