Saturday night’s Detroit Lions vs Dallas Cowboys matchup has a lot of questions that need to be answered. Will Detroit come out complacent after wrapping up their first division title in 30 years last weekend? Can Dallas snap their two game losing streak? Does a big night from Cowboys QB Dak Prescott get him back into the MVP race? The NFL knows what they’re doing scheduling this matchup as a standalone game, and this is must see TV.

Before Betting on Week 17 Detroit Lions vs Dallas Cowboys

Detroit has completed their franchise turnaround, winning their first NFC North title with last weekend’s 30-24 victory at Minnesota. The Lions most recent division crown was the 1994 NFC Central championship but you wonder if there is a celebratory hangover heading to Dallas Saturday night?

The Cowboys have lost back to back games, but those were also two very tough road contests at Buffalo (31-10) and at Miami (22-20). Dallas has still clinched a playoff berth at 10-5, but are a game back from the Eagles in the NFC East. Philadelphia closes with Arizona and the Giants, so it doesn’t look like they’ll be losing the rest of the regular season.

One thing Dallas has going for them on Saturday night is that they are an undefeated 7-0 at home this season. Despite being likely out of the division race – although anything can happen – Dallas still needs wins so they can possibly get a home playoff game and the Cowboys finish up with a very winnable game at Washington next week.
