San Francisco 49ers vs. LA Rams Preview
The team from the City of Angels does look solid at the moment, with the only loss so far coming against the Bills, and to be honest they haven’t deserved that one. On the other side, the 49ers have two defeats in a row, mostly because of the injuries. At one point, three of their best players were sidelined, Garoppolo, Mostert and Bosa. This is one of the most important games of the year for Kyle Shanahan’s guys. Not because they meet the divisional rivals, but because they need to stop the negative trend and boost their morale a little bit.
San Francisco 49ers vs. LA Rams Odds
49ers | +150 | 51.5 O/U |
Rams | -170 | 51.5 O/U |
Will Jimmy G Please Stand Up?
Once Garoppolo came to San Francisco, the fans were euphoric, thinking they got a QB who will lead them to the Super Bowl titles. And indeed, the 49ers did reach SB, but we can hardly say that their QB was the reason for that.
Jimmy G was benched last week in a blowout loss to the Dolphins. He was coming out from an injury, but that isn’t an excuse for a guy who needs to be the franchise leader. He was 7-for-17 for 77 yards, had two interceptions, and was sacked three times.
Right now, with Bosa out, and his defensive unit vulnerable and shaky, Garoppolo is the critical piece of the team, as he needs to cover up all the defensive minuses with a superb offense.
Rams Rolling at Steady Pace
If it weren’t for that, let’s say dull, loss against the Bills, the Rams would be one of few teams in league with a perfect record. And they deserved that to be direct.
They average 27.2 points per game, and allow just 18. for example, they allowed 19 points combined to Washington and the Giants while also limiting the Cowboys to 17, with Dak Prescott throwing bombs all over the place since the start of the year.
The versatile attack led y Jared Goff is doing just fine too, with the former No.1 pick tossing 8 TD passes for now and 1372 yards. He has two more TDs on the ground and is quite solid over the past five events.
Head to Head Matches
With the two sides being divisional rivals, they meet often. That is at least twice each year. During the previous campaign, the 49ers win both events. They were better in LA 20-7, and 34-31 at home.
Prediction
We believe that the Rams are going to win this one without too many problems. The spread on them is -3.5, which is in our something this unit can handle without easily. The odds are tempting -110, and we suggest going for it. If not, a plain win is -175, which is totally fine as well.
