  • Notre Dame dominated Oregon State in last year’s Sun Bowl, beating them 40-8.
  • Texas A&M came up short in the Texas Bowl against Oklahoma State, finishing 7-6.
  • These two teams last met on September 29, 2001, in a game Texas A&M won 24-3.

The 2024-25 college football season kicks off in just a matter of days! This Week 1 clash features a matchup between the #7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the #20 Texas A&M Aggies. The winner will earn a key victory.

Before Betting on Notre Dame vs Texas A&M

Notre Dame had another top-20 finish last season, remaining consistently competitive on a yearly basis. The Fighting Irish have struggled to crack the CFP field, despite their relative success. This season, as the CFP expands to include 8 additional squads, perhaps no team will greater benefit than Notre Dame. As an independent, they can lock down a CFP berth if they finish ranked among the top-8 non-conference champions.

Texas A&M was expected by many to rise to the top of the SEC over the past couple of years, after recruiting what was seen as a generational defensive class. Unfortunately, those recruits haven’t fully panned out, stranding the Aggies in the middle of a hyper-competitive SEC. In order to break into the CFP this season, Texas A&M needs a win in this opening game against #7 Notre Dame. They’ll hope the defense finally clicks in 2024.

Notre Dame vs Texas A&M Offshore Odds

This game is expected to be very closely contested. Notre Dame opens the season ranked 13 spots higher, but is the underdog in this clash. The competitiveness of the SEC, as well as Texas A&M’s home-field advantage are the main reasons for the Aggies entering the game as the favorite. Both teams will see a change at the QB position from the majority of last season. Notre Dame has the edge here, but it will come down to the wire.
