There will be an intriguing clash in the FA Cup this week, as Nottingham Forest and Bristol City collide in a fourth round replay. The winning side would progress through to the next round of the competition, and will host Man United.
Before Betting On Nottingham Forest vs Bristol City
Bristol City and Nottingham Forest couldn’t be separated when they collided in their first match a few weeks ago, meaning that a replay will be required to determine the side that will progress to host Man United in the fifth round of the competition at the end of the month. Forest should hold the advantage, having progressed from all four previous ties against Bristol in the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, the Robins have picked up just two victories from their last ten matches against Forest. However, both of their wins over that period have been picked up at the City Ground. But, they have lost three times, with five of the matches between the English sides ending in draws.
Forest needed a replay to come through the third round, edging Blackpool in a thriller away from home. This is the first time that they have needed more than one replay in the competition, previously requiring three replays in the 1995-96 campaign to get through to the quarterfinal stage of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Bristol have progressed from their last three FA Cup ties that have required a replay. Their most recent success was achieved last term when eliminated West Brom in the fourth round. They will be looking to reach the fifth round of the competition in successive seasons for the first time since 1967-68.
