Before Betting On Nottingham Forest vs Man United

A trophy will be a huge target for Erik ten Hag in his first season at Manchester United, and the EFL Cup could present him with his best chance of achieving that target. There is little doubt that the Red Devils have progressed under the Dutchman, as they sit in the top four places in the Premier League and also remain in contention in all three cup competitions that they started the season in.

United will be playing away from Old Trafford for the first time in the EFL Cup this season on Wednesday, as they have reached this round with every game being played at the Theatre of Dreams. The Red Devils have been professional in every round of the competition, with their toughest test coming in the third round against Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest will be the clear outsiders in the betting to reach the next round of the competition, as they have done extremely well to reach this stage. Forest managed to knock out top six opposition in the third round, as they eased to a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. That was followed by a 4-1 success against Blackburn Rovers.

However, in the quarterfinals, they needed a penalty shootout to edge past Wolves. In truth, this tie comes at a good time for Forest, as they look extremely confident at present. Steve Cooper’s side have moved clear of the relegation places in the Premier League with ease, and their sights will be set on a return to Wembley, just under a year after they clinched their return to the top-flight with playoff glory.

This should be a tight first leg, as neither side will be looking to give too much away. However, ten Hag is expected to make changes after a busy run of fixtures, and that could give Forest a chance. Therefore, we could see the sides playing out a draw in the first leg.
