The defending men’s champion at Wimbledon is back in action on centre court at SW19 on Wednesday, as Novak Djokovic takes on Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round of the Grand Slam. The Serbian managed to avoid a shock in the first round, but he will be looking to raise his game ahead of the second round match on Wednesday.

Novak Djokovic is the clear favorite in the betting to win Wimbledon for a seventh time this year. Victory in the 2022 Grand Slam would also mean that he has won the previous four editions of the competition. However, the Serb will need to raise his game after just about managing to overcome a stern opponent in the first round on Centre Court on Monday.
Kwon Soon-Woo asked difficult questions of Djokovic throughout the first round game, but eventually fell to the defending champion in four sets. The Serb needed to raise his game in the final two sets, and that was just too much for his South Korean opponent. Djokovic ended the game having won 85% of points on his first serve, but could only manage 54% of winners on the second serve.
Thanasi Kokkinakis has already reached a career-best second round at Wimbledon this year, and will be looking to reach his best ever showing at a Grand Slam event by reaching the third round this year. The Australian is currently ranked 84th in the world. He was extremely dominant in the first round of the competition, as he saw off Polish player Kamil Majchrzak in straight sets.
The two players have only met on one previous occasion, with Djokovic coming out on top in straight sets at the French Open in 2015.
