Nuggets Coming Off Home-And Home Split Against Spurs

Following a three-game winning streak, the Nuggets salvaged a home-and-home split against the Spurs by defeating them 122-111 on Saturday night. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic pumped in 46 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out 10 assists. At the other end of the floor, he tallied two blocks.

Michael Porter Jr. added 28 points and 10 boards while knocking down four of his nine attempts from beyond the arc. Jamal Murray chipped in with 13 points (6-17 FG), six rebounds, six assists and five steals.

After overcoming an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit, the key moment in this contest took place in overtime. Jokic scored on a layup after stripping the ball from Victor Wembanyama, giving the Nuggets a 115-108 advantage with 2:27 left to play. Additionally, Denver’s defense held San Antonio to 39.4 percent shooting overall and 27.1 percent from 3-point range.

Boston Looks To Rebound From Loss To Thunder

On the heels of a three-game winning streak, the Celtics dropped a 105-92 decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night in a battle between two of the top teams in the association. Jayson Tatum paced the team’s offense with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.

Jaylen Brown added 21 points and three assists but went scoreless in the second half. Kristaps Porzingis chipped in with 19 points and nine rebounds on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor.

The Celtics held a 65-55 lead at the break, but OKC turned things around in the second half for the second straight game. After trimming the deficit to four points at the end of the third quarter, the Thunder outscored the Celtics 29-12 in the final frame, highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers from Lu Dort that gave the home team a 100-88 advantage with two minutes left to play.

OKC’s defense held Boston to 36.5 percent shooting from the field and just 9-for-46 from 3-point range (19.6 percent). Furthermore, Boston produced a season-low 27 points in the second half. The team’s previous low was 44.

Nuggets vs Celtics Prediction: Boston Wins A Close One

The Nuggets have won four of their previous five contests with their recent win over the Spurs, and they boast the third-highest scoring offense in the league, putting up 120.8 points per game. On the other side of this matchup, the Celtics have gone 3-2 in their last five games, and they have the fourth-highest scoring average in the NBA, with 118.5 points per outing. However, unlike its opponent, Boston is in the top 10 from a defensive standpoint.

So, although the Nuggets have won the last three matchups in the season series between these franchises, look for Boston to end that streak in what should be a competitive battle.
