Buckeyes Remain Dominant

Ohio State has now won its first three CFP games by an average of just under 20 points per game. They have been the country’s most consistent team since the postseason started. The Buckeyes flexed their defensive ability in the win over Texas, exposing Quinn Ewers’ poor play and holding them to 14 pts.

Now in the finals, the Buckeyes draw an intriguing matchup with Notre Dame. QB Will Howard should have an advantage over Riley Leonard, but he will still be seeking to improve on an average game against Texas. With their top-ranked defense leading the way, Ohio State is a tough out for any opponent.

Irish Aiming for First CFP Title

With the SEC out of the picture, FBS Independent Notre Dame earned the right to face off against this year’s Big-10 giant. Like the Buckeyes, Notre Dame relied on their defense in their semifinal victory. On offense, QB Riley Leonard continued to struggle. He tossed two interceptions and needs to improve.

Notre Dame’s season will come down to Leonard’s ability to bounce back against a brutal Ohio State defense. His performance from the Nittany Lions game won’t be enough to win the title. Having been held back from poor QB play in the past, Notre Dame will be relying on the defense to keep it close.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish Prediction:

This prediction is a no brainer for me. I took Ohio State to win it all at the start of the CFP, theorizing that their loss to Michigan had removed their “letdown” performance from their systems. Every win since then has further confirmed my belief that they will take home the chip. Look for their defense to hold Notre Dame under 20 points in the win.
