Before Betting On Olympics Men’s 100m Freestyle Swimming

Swimming events at the Olympics have enjoyed the most success of any sport throughout history, with the upcoming event seeing a staggering 35 events being involved on the schedule. The United States have dominated in the pool throughout Olympic history, winning the most medals in each of the last eight editions of the multi-sport competition.

The Men’s 100m Freestyle Swimming event has been included on the Olympic schedule in every edition since 2004, but it was first contested in 1896, and it is regarded as the Blue Ribbon event in the pool. Alfred Hajos for Hungary was the first Olympic champion crowned.

It is the one event in the pool that the Americans haven’t completely dominated in recent years, with Caeleb Dressel and Nathan Adrian being the only U.S. Olympic champions in the last eight editions of the event. However, Dressel was a commanding winner of the Men’s 100m Freestyle in 2020, setting an Olympic record in the process.

However, the American is among the outsiders for the event this year. The World Championships earlier this year could point to the most likely contenders for the top prize, with Chinese swimmer Pan Zhanle winning the top prize in Doha. The Chinese star looks to be the emerging talent in the world of swimming, setting a world record time of 46.80 in February.
