The MLB season has hit its stride as June progresses. This weekend series features an AL East rivalry clash between the Baltimore Orioles (39-22) and the Tampa Bay Rays (31-31). The Orioles are having another excellent season and will attempt to take advantage of Tampa Bay’s recent struggles.
Before Betting on Orioles vs Rays
The Orioles youth movement that started in the latter half of 2022 continues to be impressive. Baltimore currently holds the 4th best record in Major League Baseball. They rank 3rd in runs per game and 4th in runs allowed. After coming up short in the playoffs last season, the Orioles will be aiming to make the World Series for the first time since 1983 this season. Whether or not they can snap a 40+ year title drought will depend on how well the bullpen holds up.
Tampa Bay has struggled to recapture the regular season success they’ve seen over the past five years this season. A tepid 31-31 start has them sitting in last place in the AL East division, and in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Fortunately, the Rays have gained a bit of momentum this week, winning three games in a row. They’ll need the offense to stay hot to continue their winning ways against the Orioles over the weekend.
Orioles vs Rays Offshore Odds
With home field advantage in their favor and a rejuvanted offense, the Rays could prove to be more trouble than expected in this series. That being said, Baltimore has been playing excellent baseball and will be a tough out as well. They won two out of three at home against the Rays last week. This series should be pretty even in Tampa Bay, with Baltimore likely to take two out of three once again.
