The MLB season continues to heat up as the summer months progress. This series features a matchup between the American League’s top 2 teams, the Baltimore Orioles (47-24) and the New York Yankees (50-24). Both teams have looked phenomenal this season, and are in tight competition for the top spot in the AL East.

The Orioles continue to climb the standings as they post another impressive season. Since May 22, Baltimore has gone 18-6, including going 8-2 in their last ten games against powerhouses in the Rays, Braves, and Phillies. It’s been nothing short of impressive for a youthful roster that is just now appraoching the two year mark from when they started to hit their stride. This road trip to face the MLB and AL East’s top team in the Yankees will be a critical test and a potential postseason preview for Baltimore.
The Yankees were the MLB’s first team to reach 50 wins, climbing to 50-22 on the season. A couple of losses to the Red Sox over the weekend slowed their momentum a bit, but New York has led the league in both batting and pitching for much of this season. Despite weathering injury stints from Gerrit Cole, Aaron Judge, and Jasson Dominguez, the Yankees have remained dominant. They face stiff compeition in the AL East from the Orioles, who lurk just 1.5 games back. Winning this series would be massive.
Orioles vs Yankees Offshore Odds
This series offers the Yankees a chance to distance themselves in the AL East, but also gives the Orioles a chance to claim the top spot. With both teams playing excellent baseball, it is unlikely this series ends in a sweep. New York is one of the rare teams to hold a better record on the road than at home, but won’t be very vulnerable regardless of the location. I wouldn’t be surprised if Baltimore takes two out of three games in this series. The Orioles have played exceptionally well against top competition lately.
