To say that Green Bay is in need of a win would be putting it mildly. At 3-5 the Packers are already in a big hole against the 6-1 Vikings in the NFC North while also being in the midst of a four game losing streak. Detroit has fought hard at times this year like in last week’s 31-27 loss to Miami, but they’re still just 1-6 on the season and this week traded away former #8 pick T.J. Hockenson within the division to Minnesota.

Before Betting on Packers vs Lions

Green Bay has had a tough stretch during their skid. Last week’s 27-17 loss in Buffalo was actually kind of impressive on the road on Sunday night against a good Bills team. During their run they’ve also had a 27-22 loss to the Giants in London but rock bottom was falling 27-10 at home against the Jets.

There are fingers to blame all around for the Packers’ poor play lately, but QB Aaron Rodgers definitely looks off. His season high in passing this season is 255 yards although he does have 13 TDs against 4 INTs. If Rodgers can’t get it going against the NFL’s worst defense with Detroit giving up 421.3 ypg, it may be time to panic in cheese land.

It wouldn’t be a season saver by any means, but Detroit would love to kick Green Bay while they are down. In reality though, even when the Packers were ‘up’ the Lions have played them well. These two teams have split the last 10 head to head although Green Bay has won five of the last six.

Packers vs Lions Prediction & Pick

For the Packers’ issues on offense they still boast the #2 passing defense in the league (174.8 ypg) which has helped them to 8th overall in total defense (316). You cannot bet a side in this game, but with Green Bay struggling on offense and the Lions up against a good defense the play is on a lower scoring contest.
