The Marlins are feeling good coming into Tuesday’s meeting with San Diego. Miami just finished up a sweep of the Angels in Anaheim, had an off day on Monday, have a red hot Jorge Soler who has homered in five of the last six games and also send their best pitcher Sandy Alcantara to the mound in the series opener with the Padres. San Diego is a decent 3-3 on their current road trip, but it’s Miami that gets the favorite tag on Tuesday.
Before Betting on Padres vs Marlins
You know Soler is scorching when it makes news when he doesn’t hit a HR. Soler had left the yard in six of his previous seven games before an 0-4 day on Sunday, but thanks to a gem from Eury Perez and the Miami bullpen the Marlins still picked up a 2-0 win to finish their West Coast road trip 5-5.
The Padres have faced Luis Severino and Gerrit Cole the last two games – both losses – and the pitching matchup doesn’t get any easier up against Sandy Alcantara (2-5, 4.86 ERA) on Tuesday. Make no mistake the 2022 Cy Young winner has not looked like his usual self this year, but it’s still hard to bet against Alcantara.
The Padres send Ryan Weathers (1-3, 3.94 ERA) to the bump in the series opener coming off two shaky outings when he’s allowed 4ER to both the Nationals and the Dodgers.

Padres vs Marlins Prediction & Pick
Alcantara doesn’t look like himself this year, but this should be a bounce back game as the Marlins are back home after a long road trip while the Padres have been away from the West Coast for over a week. San Diego is also a bit banged up with Manny Machado (hand) out while Juan Soto and Xander Bogaerts try to play through injuries of their own. Marlins are the lean here.
