The inaugural UFL season is approaching the playoffs! This Week 7 game features a matchup between the Michigan Panthers (4-2) and the D.C. Defenders (3-3). The Defenders stayed alive after a crucial win over San Antonio last week. They’ll be aiming to build on that with another win against a very capable Panthers team.

Before Betting on Panthers vs Defenders

The Panthers won a thrilling game against the Renegades on Sunday. The 28-27 victory improved Michigan’s record to 4-2, and gave them a 3-game lead in the playoff standings. That puts the Panthers on the cusp of clinching a playoff spot. QB Danny Etling played relatively well in the win, completing 16 of 28 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown.

Despite the victory, a 1-point home win against the winless Renegades isn’t much to be celebrated. Michigan will undoubtedly be focused on putting together a more complete performance on the road in D.C. this week. The defense wasn’t at its best in Week 6, creating an area for improvement in Week 7.

The Defenders won a massively important game against the Brahmas last week. While a loss would have dropped them to 2-4 and three games out of a playoff spot, the win did the opposite. They’re now 3-3, and sit only one game behind San Antonio for the conference’s second playoff spot. D.C. will be aiming to build on their success against the Panthers.

The win on Sunday was mostly due to an excellent performance by the defense, which held the Brahmas to just 12 points. That being said, the Defenders were efficient on offense as well. QB Jordan Ta’amu completed 14 of 22 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown, while the rushing game added an additional 115 scrimmage yards.

This should be an excellent matchup between two teams fighting for a playoff berth. The Defenders have a slight advantage at home, but are one game behind Michigan in the standings. The Panthers are likely to bounce back in this game and make things difficult for D.C. This one should come down to the wire, with the home team having the final advantage.
