The Carolina Panthers (3-9) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) in this Week 14 matchup. Our Panthers vs Eagles prediction is for heavy underdog Carolina to cover the 13.5-point spread.
On paper, this looks like a mismatch. But Carolina has fought hard in recent weeks. Philadelphia must avoid looking past them and thinking about their next two games against Pittsburgh and Washington.
Head-to-head, the Eagles lead with an 8-5 record.

Carolina Shows Signs of Life
After Week 8, Carolina sat at 1-7 and dictatorial owner David Tepper made the wrong kind of headlines for ejecting a Denver Broncos fan during his team’s 28-14 loss.
Since he bought the team, Tepper has had several confrontations with local businesses who mocked his team and fans at their home field.
Tepper is also on his seventh head coach in six years owning the team. After he fired Frank Reich 11 games into the season in 2023, there were concerns that another terrible year would lead to new head coach Dave Canales getting axed too.
On the field, their first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, quarterback Bryce Young, had been benched and looked like an immediate bust.
There was nowhere to go but up. And they have gotten better.
When Young was reinserted, he should marked improvement. Carolina beat New Orleans and the Giants in consecutive weeks. Then they shook the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs before losing 30-27 after a desperate Patrick Mahomes scramble. In Week 13, they battled hard before losing to Tampa Bay in overtime.
They are in year one of a rebuild under a rookie head coach. The quarterback is very young and green. But they have a top-tier running back in Chuba Hubbard and receiver Xavier Legette looks like a keeper.
They showed fight despite a terrible record and universal ridicule.
Searing Hot Philly Has Won Eight Straight
Philadelphia’s Week 13 win in Baltimore cemented them as one of the NFC’s main Super Bowl threats. The game ended at 24-19, but the Ravens scored a touchdown with three seconds remaining to make the score look closer than it should have been.
Saquon Barkley might win the MVP. Their defense has been tough, hard-hitting, and opportunistic.
Injuries are a concern for the Carolina matchup. Safety Reed Blankenship is out with a concussion. Tight end Dallas Goedert is out with a knee injury. DeVonta Smith missed the game against Baltimore but was a full participant at practice this week.
Panthers vs Eagles Prediction: A 13.5-Point Spread is Too High
Teams cannot be much further apart than Carolina and Philadelphia. And while it is understandable that Philly is so heavily favored at home, Carolina has played well enough in recent weeks to believe they will keep it closer than 13.5 points.
