The inaugural UFL season is rapidly approaching the playoffs! Only two regular season weeks remain. Following Week 8, all four playoff spots have been locked up. This game features a matchup between the playoff-bound Michigan Panthers (6-2) and the eliminated Houston Roughnecks (1-7). The Panthers are aiming to build some momentum with the postseason on the horizon.

Before Betting on Panthers vs Roughnecks

The Panthers clinched a playoff spot following their win over the Defenders in Week 8. Michigan is technically still alive for 1st place in the conference and home-field advantage in the playoffs. They’d need to win out and see the Stallions lose out for it to happen. Regardless of the likelihood of that occuring, the Panthers need to start by focusing on winning this game against the struggling Roughnecks. RB Matthew Colburn II had an excellent game in the win on Saturday, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

Houston has long been eliminated from playoff contention, and lost again last week. The defeat dropped them to 1-7 on the season, leaving much to be desired. That being said, the Roughnecks played a competitive game on Saturday, despite losing. They lost 35-28 on the road against the 8-0 Birmingham Stallions. The rushing game was especially effective, with three players combining for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns. The defense will aim to bounce back this week.

The Panthers have a notable advantage in this game as the better team by a decent margin. They need to still be wary of Houston, who competed well with the Stallions last week. If Michigan loses this game, they’ll be guarenteed a road game in Birmingham in the playoffs. That raises the stakes quite a bit. The Panthers should be able to come away with a victory here.
