The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots meet in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Both teams are retooling.

Our Patriots vs Titans prediction is that underdog New England will cover the 3.5-point spread.

New England (2-6) faced an avalanche of controversy heading into their Week 8 game against the archrival Jets. They responded, staging an impressive comeback win with a last-minute touchdown.

Tennessee (1-6) was the latest team to get caught under the Detroit Lions’ steamroller in a 52-14 loss. This was expected to be a transitional year for the Titans, but few thought they would be vying for the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Head-to-head, the Patriots have the advantage with a record of 26-18-1.

Patriots Hope To Build on Comeback Win Over Jets

Before New England’s Week 8 game against New York, the media and fans had been focused on head coach Jerod Mayo calling his team “soft.” Speculation even suggested that he was about to be removed as head coach.

They trailed most of the game but staged a remarkable comeback to win with a last-minute touchdown. The questions about Mayo’s job status have quieted for the moment.

Heading to Tennessee to play the struggling Titans, New England can win its second straight.

Rookie quarterback Drake Maye suffered a concussion against New York. He is questionable. Backup Jacoby Brissett, who went 15 for 24 as the Patriots mounted their comeback, would play in Maye’s stead.

Rebuilding New England would likely be better off for the long term if Maye were to play. But they have a greater chance of winning now with the veteran Brissett. They are very young, particularly on offense. With the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 5, veteran players like tight end Hunter Henry could be showcased. New England already traded linebacker Josh Uche to Kansas City.

Titans Battered With an Uncertain Future

Tennessee, in last place in the AFC South with a rookie head coach Brian Callahan who is blatantly unhappy with his quarterback options, could be looking toward the future and hope to secure a high draft pick to find a franchise QB.

The Titans’ situation is rapidly deteriorating. They have lost three straight and their last two losses were to Super Bowl contenders Buffalo and Detroit. The score was a combined 86-24.

Ironically, Tennessee’s defense is relatively solid statistically. They lead the NFL against the pass and are 12th against the run.

Starting quarterback Will Levis is still ailing with a shoulder injury. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley is likely to play. Running back Tony Pollard is questionable.

Patriots vs Titans Prediction: New England Will Cover the Spread

The Titans are playing terribly and are in disarray. The Patriots had a surprising win and garnered positive vibes.

New England is a 3.5-point underdog and they will cover that in a close game.
