We will see if the New England Patriots (6-4) defense is for real when they visit the Minnesota Vikings (8-2) on Thanksgiving night. New England has only allowed 23 points total in the last three games, but they’ve also had two meetings with the Jets and one with the Colts who aren’t exactly offensive juggernauts. Minnesota tries to rebound from a 40-3 loss to Dallas last Sunday which snapped a 7-game win streak.

Before Betting on Patriots vs Vikings

Minnesota had a letdown game last Sunday, riding high off their 33-30 OT win in Buffalo only to lay an egg in the 37-point loss back at home against Dallas. The Vikings had been playing with fire for awhile, with each of their seven consecutive wins being by one score.

The Vikings had just 183 yards of total offense vs. the Cowboys last Sunday, a trend which could very well continue against a Patriots defense that ranks 4th in the NFL in total yards allowed (302.8) and against the pass (188.3). You also have to take into consideration Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins’ struggles in primetime games in which he has just a 10-18 record.

While New England should be able to limit Minnesota’s potency on Thursday night, can the Patriots score themselves? The Pats’ only score last week was an 84-yard punt return last week with just :05 on the clock and New England ranks 25th in total yards this season (317.6).

Patriots vs Vikings Prediction & Pick

Minnesota looked bad last week at home, and although the Cowboys have a much better offense than New England, it could be argued the Pats’ defense is better. Throw in the “Kirk Cousins Primetime” narrative and this one says to take New England.
