Two teams off to a 3-1 start meet up on Friday at the Footprint Center when the New Orleans Pelicans visit the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix looks like to be the early play here considering they are coming off a 112-95 victory over the Clippers and then beating Golden State 134-105 on Tuesday. The Pelicans are also without Brandon Ingram who is in concussion protocol.

Before Betting on Pelicans vs Suns

Ingram isn’t the only player who is iffy for Friday night’s Pelicans vs Suns matchup as Zion Williamson missed Tuesday’s 113-111 win over Dallas with a hip contusion and C.J. McCollum is also on the injury report questionable with a finger injury. With Jose Alvarado (back) also questionable New Orleans looks very banged up in the back court.

The main thing Phoenix has to do on Friday night is avoid the letdown after their dominant 29-point win over Golden State earlier this week. The Suns’ only loss this season came 113-111 in OT at Portland and being back home where they were 32-9 last season has to give Phoenix an edge for a big win here.

The Suns are getting things done on the defensive end of the court this season allowing just 104.5 ppg which is third fewest in the NBA. The Pelicans are also third in scoring at 122.0 ppg, but Phoenix held Golden State to their lowest point total of the season last time out and the Warriors are a top four scoring team as well.

Pelicans vs Suns Prediction & Pick

Hard to back New Orleans here with all the injury uncertainties. Williamson is likely back in the lineup after sitting out Tuesday, but McCollum and Alvarado as the starting guards could be a bit banged up. Phoenix dominated Golden State – albeit with a 34 to 17 free throw discrepancy – and should be approaching a double-digit victory again on Friday night.
Pick: Suns -7
