Reds Hoping To Maintain 100% Record
Liverpool are one of the sides that many experts have bypassed when it comes to predicting the champions this season. However, that could play right into Jurgen Klopp’s hands, as the Reds can go under the radar. There is certainly confidence within the walls of Anfield that the club could win a second league title in three season, as their chances of achieving that have been boosted by the return to fitness of Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman played the full 90 minutes in their opening game of the new season, as the Reds saw off Norwich to claim a dominant 3-0 success at the newcomers. Liverpool hardly had to get out of second gear in that opening day game, as they went ahead inside the opening half an hour through Diogo Jota. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino added further goals in the second half. Klopp will be hoping his side can maintain that form back in front of their home fans on Saturday.
Burnley Need To Recover
Burnley got their new campaign off to a flying start, but weren’t able to maintain their performance level as they dropped to a 2-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Clarets went ahead after just two minutes, as James Tarkowski opened the scoring. However, they were made to pay for not seeing out the game, as they were punished as the visitors scored twice inside the final 20 minutes. Neal Maupay equalised for the Seagulls, before Alexis Mac Allister scored the winner just five minutes later.
It was very unlike Burnley not to see out the game, as there are often few sides more defensively solid in the closing stages of matches than the Clarets. There could be bigger issues at the club this season, as it looks like it could be a difficult campaign for Sean Dyche and his side. However, a win at Anfield this Saturday would certainly increase their confidence that they could move away from the drop zone.

Burnley ended their long wait for an away success at Anfield last season, as they won 1-0 in January. Their previous away win against the Reds before that victory was achieved in 1974. However, that victory remains the only three points that the Clarets have won against Liverpool in the last nine meetings.
